Artistic Director

Mike is the Artistic Director of The Renegade Company and has created site-specific deconstructionist works using the texts of Ubu Roi, Prometheus Bound, Hamlet, Medea, The Glass Menagerie, Moby-Dick, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the films Planet of the Apes, King Kong and Tarzan the Ape Man. Upcoming projects include creating works inspired by Animal Farm, Old Man and the Sea, and As I Lay Dying.

In addition to Renegade, Mike—known as 14th Street—has created a cheesesteak-eating competition/performance piece, a poetry-writing performance piece, and a work using GPS Directions of all the places Sal Paradise traveled to in Jack Kerouac’s On The Road. Upcoming 14th Street works include a mobile-to-mobile performance work, For A Good Time Call...

Partnerships and collaborations are a main focus for Mike. He has collaborated with Little Baby’s Ice Cream, The Random Tea Room, flower CSA Jigbee, zine artist-Daniel Kent, and herbalist Telegraphic Tree. Upcoming collaborations include sausage company Hocks N Coqs, and Spirit Forward. 

Mike is part of the 2017 MFA in Devised Performance class with Pig Iron Theatre Company/University of the Arts. He is a also member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab.
